Canada’s Wonderland is the highlight of many people’s summer, and it opens on May 3! Every year there are changes to the park making it an extra special experience. Here are 10 things you can look forward to for the 2019 season:
The greatly anticipated, thrilling ride is open!
The Yukon Striker is a world record breaking roller coaster, as it is the fastest, longest and tallest ride. After experiencing the ride myself, its like no other. The dramatic pause intensifies the 90 degree drop, and it felt like my stomach flipped! The ride is so exhilarating and fun, I smiled the whole time. If roller coasters are your favourite part of Wonderland, you have to experience the thrill of Yukon Striker!
Tundra: A Cirque Experience
An amazing acrobatic show is coming to Wonderland on June 28. It will be an icy experience featuring the Northern Lights with an igloo and mountain backdrop. Talented performers will soar on silks and display their contortion skills on balance beams. You can watch their show in the Canterbury Theatre, every day throughout the season, except Wednesdays.
This year, the fun at Wonderland won’t stop with Halloween Haunt. Visit in November and December to celebrate and enjoy the holiday season at WinterFest. There will be a tree lighting ceremony, Santa and Mrs. Claus will be there for pictures and activities, ice skating, live holiday shows, and more!
There are so many new things to see at Wonderland this year and the new Gold Season Pass will help you experience it all! This pass not only allows you unlimited visits to the park and splash works, you’ll also get unlimited visits to Halloween Haunt and WinterFest. You can upgrade your regular Season Pass to a Gold Pass at any time or buy one with these perks and more for $104.99.
After you ride the new Yukon Striker, find a gift in the new Klondike Outfitters store nearby. This shop is located in the newly themed section of the park, Frontier Canada. Find mining themed gifts and buy a photo of yourself riding the Yukon Striker as this is also a new FunPix location.
Miner’s Café & Mess Hall
If you’re in Frontier Canada and looking for some non-traditional theme park food, stop by the Miner’s Café or Mess Hall. In the Mess Hall, you’ll find Asian food, and you can find international food including protein bowls, tempura shrimp and more at the Miner’s Café.
Looking for something sweet, and traditional? Also located in Frontier Canada at the Goldrush Junction you’ll find delicious desserts like funnel cakes and butter tarts!
The Chuck Wagon
There will be meats such as hot dogs and farmer sausages served here to eat on the way to your next rollercoaster.
Grab & Go Market
If you’re looking to stay healthy, head to the the Grab & Go Market located in the International Festival. Here, you will find salads, wraps and lots of snacks.
The King’s Feast
Taking a break is always a great idea between rides. Located in Medieval Faire is the King’s Feast where you’ll be able to sit on the patio and enjoy a meal. The vegetarian and Halal friendly menu includes burgers, chicken tenders, hot dogs and more.
