Need a child-care solution for potential school closures?

With schools in Vaughan potentially closing on Tuesday February 4, Thursday February 6 and Friday February 7 the City of Vaughan is offering day camps for children aged 6 to 12. The day camps will be held at a number of Vaughan community centres at a cost of $39 per day.

Maple Community Centre, North Thornhill Community Centre, and Vellore Village Community Centre will run the camps from 8:30 am to 4 pm. A special needs day camp will also be held at Maple Community Centre.

Camp activities will include sports, games, arts and crafts, and more. Children may be allowed to play outside depending on the weather. Other special activities, such as skating, may take place depending on community centre amenities and availability.

You can register your child for the day camps online or in person at the community centres. Spots are limited. The details

  • The day camp is available to children aged 6 to 12 years old

  • Registration is on a first-come, first-served basis

  • The cost per day is $39 per child (plus a $10 surcharge for non-Vaughan residents)
